In TSCN, an appointment is a step in understanding a patient’s needs and determining what evaluation or information may be appropriate. Participating doctors remain independent and make all clinical decisions. Care coordinators may assist with scheduling, communication, and document collection, while patients choose their doctors and decide whether to proceed with care. Depending on the independent doctor’s assessment, the next step may include imaging, physical therapy, pain management, surgery, rehabilitation, another opinion, or no additional treatment.
