Victorian Egyptian Revival Scarab Axe Brooch brooches modelled in Steel and 15kDATE: Victorian, c. 1880 An unusual antique brooch modelled in the Egyptian Revival style. A faience scarab beetle is mounted as the centrepiece of a dual bladed battleaxe. The blades, which also resemble wings, are set with rose cut diamonds, and the beetle has been given two antennae with diamond studs at the ends. Further diamonds adorn the axe handle.
